E2CR is an engineering and construction firm that specializes in Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental sampling and testing, in-house laboratory testing of soil and concrete, and Construction Inspection. Our staff consists of engineers, geologists, scientists, inspectors drillers, and technicians who have participated in hundreds of projects for federal, state and private sector clients. We provide comprehensive geotechnical engineering services (including field exploration, laboratory testing, engineering analysis, and design, preparation of construction/bid documents, preparation of cost estimates, field inspection, litigation support and construction support) for any type of design/construction project. Our specialties include, but are not limited to, Shallow Foundations, Sinkhole Remediation, Surcharging/Settlement Assessment, Utility Tunneling, Slope Stability Analysis, Pavement Design, Dam/Dike Stability Analysis, Construction Inspection, Subsurface Improvements, Deep Foundations, Deep Dynamic Compaction, Construction Dewatering, Subsurface Contamination Sampling and Testing. We have conducted structural inspection and in-situ testing including structural deformation observation; crack mapping, void detection; corrosion potential evaluation; and concrete durability evaluation. We have installed extensive geotechnical instrumentation, including piezometers, slope indicators, strain gauges, tape extensiometers and settlement sensors, and conducted in-situ testing including hydraulic conductivity (falling head test; well pump-out tests) vane shears for strength determination; pressuremeter, dilatometer, and electric cone penetrometer (CPT). E2CR has experience working in locations such as off-shore sites, swamps and soft soils, and railroad rights-of-way etc. that require specialized skills, equipment, and other considerations.
E2CR, Inc has a well-equipped soils and concrete laboratory with trained and certified laboratory technicians. Strict quality control standard are maintained with meticulous record keeping. All testing is performed under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and the testing is performed in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO Specifications. The lab equipment is regularly serviced and calibrated, to keep the equipment in perfect working condition. E2CR, Inc. constantly tries to upgrade and update the equipment so that only the latest and most current equipment is used to perform the tests. E2CR’s lab is certified by The Maryland State Highway Administration to perform soil testing. And has setup and manages the SHA field laboratory at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project Site, which is Maryland SHA certified to perform Soils and Concrete testing. E2CR has setup and manages the MdTA field laboratory for the I-95 Express Toll Lanes (ETL) project site, which has preliminary been inspected by AMRL.
